What to include in your fire door enquiry
A few clear details help us understand your enquiry. Start with the property’s postcode and building type, then tell us whether you need supply and installation, an inspection, maintenance, repairs or replacement. If you are unsure which option applies, describe the situation in your own words.
An approximate number of doors is helpful, but it does not have to be a final survey count. You can explain that you are still establishing the scope. If the enquiry concerns more than one address, make that clear and identify the person who should receive the quotation and any follow-up questions about the proposed work.
If you are planning supply and installation
Tell us whether you are replacing existing doors or planning new work. Include any door references, specification or report that has prompted the enquiry, if available. Photographs and approximate measurements can be useful background, although a survey or further assessment may still be needed.
Our supply service is offered together with installation. We do not sell doors on a supply-only basis. If you are comparing quotations, explain the scope you want priced so the discussion concerns the same doors and proposed work. Tell us about known access restrictions or other practical matters that may affect arrangements at the property.
If you need an inspection, maintenance or repairs
Describe the doors you are concerned about and what has prompted the enquiry. This could be visible damage, a problem in everyday operation or findings in an existing report. Include the location of each affected door where possible, especially when several doors are being discussed.
You do not need to diagnose the issue before contacting us. Explain what you have noticed and whether the concern is recent or recurring. Further assessment may be needed before appropriate work can be proposed. An inspection enquiry should not be treated as a request for automatic certification of an existing door or someone else’s installation.
Enquiries from landlords, agents and businesses
If you are contacting us on behalf of a property owner or organisation, include the organisation’s name and your role in arranging the work. Tell us who can authorise the proposed scope and who can coordinate access. These details help keep the quotation discussion connected to the right people.
For several doors or properties, a simple list of addresses and door references can be useful. Explain whether there is an existing report or schedule that identifies the work. We can then discuss what further information is needed without assuming that every door or every building requires the same approach.

Before you agree the proposed work
A quotation is your opportunity to understand the proposed scope before deciding to proceed. Check which doors are included and ask about any items you do not understand. If your requirements change during the discussion, make sure those changes are reflected in the work being considered.
Ask what survey or further assessment is needed, how access will be arranged and what handover information is included for the particular project. Timescales and arrangements should be discussed for your property rather than assumed from a general service description. We want you to have a clear starting point for the conversation and a practical understanding of what happens next.
